Close to the end of work today, my boss Allan asks if I’m interested in taking his seat at the Washington Nationals baseball game tonight. nats_gameI would be sitting next to Gannett’s VP of Labor Relations.  I had not been to a ballgame yet since we’ve been to DC, so I asked Lindsey to head toward my work on the Metro so we could meet up and go.  We had fun trying to sync the exact time when I would be at the Metro station and she would be arriving on the train.  We did find each other after careful planning and lots of TXT messaging.

The ballpark was gorgeous and reminded me of the new Busch Stadium in St. Louis (t). There were about 20,000 at the game, which isn’t too bad considering the Nats are close to being the worst team in baseball and may lose 100 games this season.

Wendall was a great guy and enjoying telling us all about DC and the Nats. It was a pleasure meeting him and spending time just talking about the media industry and also some baseball. nat_racesLuckily I follow some Cubs fans on Twitter so I was able to at least sound like I was up to speed on baseball (t).

We even saw the “Presidential Race” where mascots of Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt come out and run across the field in a race (t).The Nats won 1-0.  I saw a rare win.

Afterwards, we stopped in Chinatown and had a relaxing Chinese dinner.  I also took pics of the Gallery Place digital billboards for work. We are planning on using them to promote Metromix.  This would be a unique advertisement where we display the Metromix logo and some branding on three big digital screens that can be seen on the whole block, and they are very bright at night.
