This was our first night out on the town. I’ve been working too many hours and haven’t had time to really let loose and enjoy the night life. I bought tickets for Progressive House/Minimal Trance and Techno producer and DJ Joel Zimmerman, known as Deadmau5 (pronounced Deadmouse). I had no idea at the time I bought the tickets that this guy DJs with a big red mouse head on.

Which made the experience even more crazy. Lindsey and I listened to his tracks on his Web site at Deadmau5.com, and this was the night we were waiting for.
We left our apartment about 11:30pm to get there by 12:30am. Our names were on the list, so we should be able to get in right away. The metro ride was a lot longer than we thought, going all the way to Galludet U/Florida Ave. We had some fun waiting for the Metro stop in Rockville, though.
Once we got off the Metro, you could see and hear Ibiza DC before we left the train station. The place was lined up with people all around the club. It was a perfect night out, just a little cool and breezy. We got our wristbands and walked right in. We missed his intro be a few minutes, but that’s ok. The place was totally packed and everyone was sweating to the hard trance beats. He didn’t have his mau5head on when we were there, but once he started playing his original tracks, he put it on, and the crowd went insane (t). The mau5head has big white eyes that flash all different colors to the beat. Pretty mesmerizing. Although his head wan’t red, it was blue. I read somewhere that this is his 2.0 head, and it’s lighter. Here’s a video Lindsey shot at Club Glow in Ibiza DC:This is the first week of his tour to kick off his album “Random Album Title”
