Only losing a pound this week was a little hard to take, especially since I lost 6 pounds the week before. Here’s the tweet I posted:
“Fitness check-in: -1 pound this week, -7 pounds since March 1. Avg calories eaten: 2,206/day; Avg burned: 3,694/day; water: 71oz/day”
I know what I did wrong.
- Lack of sleep caught up with me. Mid-week I found myself crashing on the couch, then sleeping most the weekend.
- Soda. I started drinking soda mid-week, then found that to be my only drink most the day. Not good. I’ve only been drinking about half the water I need every day.
- Tempted by a bag of damn Doritos. One bag, and before you know it, it throws my entire diet off.
I’m thankful that I lost something, even though it was just a pound. I would not have been comfy with losing nothing or gaining. I can’t let this week stop my progress. I was doing very well, and I need to realize that if I don’t get my rest, things will start to dwindle. My body needs just as much recovery time as it does strength training.
Today I got back into the gym (after 3 days of being off) and I feel like I’m back on the horse after falling off. Here’s my latest chart.

Stay away from the soda.. ha ha what can I say... I drank a big 32ozer this morning and have only had one glass of water to make up for it! I feel for you.
