Since I’m heading out of town for a road trip tonight, I planned ahead to get my weekday runs in so I didn’t miss any while on the road. I felt a bit tired already from the get go because I didn’t give myself that extra day of rest in between the 2nd and 3rd weekday run.  I didn’t check my time at all during the run, since I didn’t care about my time and just wanted to finish.  The run itself was again very muggy, and I was dripping sweat like crazy.  I felt pretty sore at the halfway point when I turned around, but I didn’t stop and finished with one of my fastest runs, only a second behind my fastest run.

Interesting that my last 3-mile runs have all been within 5 seconds of each other: 36:21, 36:16, and 36:16 again today.  I thought today’s run was going to be one of my worst, but I’ve noticed if I don’t look at my watch at all, I tend to run better.

I’m excited about the road trip to St. Louis with long stops in Bardstown, KY and Southern Illinois.  So, better get on the road.

Thoughts:

Without that day off  after the 2nd run, it makes for a sore 3rd run.  But I’m glad to have disciplined myself to get these three runs done before the trip, so I don’t have to worry about running until the long run on Saturday.

What I’ll remember most:
The surprise of finishing with one of my fastest runs.
