Today’s 5-mile run was easier than yesterday’s run. Even though I got a late start, I took my time and didn’t overdo it. I did need to go to the bathroom right before the run, since my stomach was gargling all day for no good reason, but I thought it would go away after a bit.  Well, it didn’t.  Luckily after the first mile, there was a McDonald’s nearby, so I stopped my watch and walked over there to do my thing.  So glad I did!  I was much more relaxed the rest of the run.

This was one of the muggiest runs I can remember.  There were parts of the trail where you could see the thick air ahead of you.  But the temps were cooler, so a little sweat didn’t matter.  I was having some trouble in Mile 3 and my mind was starting to convince me to walk, but I focused on my music and kept telling myself to just keep moving, and it helped.  Once I passed 3 miles, the run got better.  It’s always the first 3 miles that are tough since your body is adjusting to the elevated heart rate, the constant pounding and adjusting to the surroundings.  Towards the last mile, it was really getting dark, and at the end, I could barely see the mile marker.

My time wasn’t the greatest, but I finished.

Thoughts:

I don’t eat McDonalds, but thank you for your bathroom.

What I’ll remember most:
How muggy it was! I had to take off my running shirt when I was done!
