I’ve been a member of Maxim Magazine since the 4th issue in 1997, when Gena Lee Nolan was on the cover and they only had 6 issues a year. I first heard about the magazine when I was getting complimentary copies at Y98FM in St. Louis, where I was the morning show producer for a few years.
I was instantly hooked on their funny captions, articles and pics that I wanted to extend my subscription as long as I could. A couple years later, some eBay sellers offered “bonus” 4-year subscriptions to Maxim when you’d purchase another subscription. So, I renewed subscriptions for my family and bought Men’s Health and some trade mags like Mix Magazine and Sound & Vision.
Then, Maxim expanded into two new magazines. In my opinion, Stuff Magazine was the scraps on the floor from Maxim put into a mag, and Blender was a music magazine written and marketed in the same fashion as Maxim. So, I subscribed to them as well. As I renewed subscriptions, I was also getting free extended subscriptions for these two magazines, too.
Recently, Maxim decided to stop publishing Stuff, so they rolled over my subscription to Blender. Then a couple months back, Maxim stopped publishing Blender, rolling everything to Maxim.

That’s why I’m clear and free through May 2023. And yes, I still get the “2 for 1″ renewal cards in the mail, saying HURRY BEFORE YOUR SUBSCRIPTION EXPIRES! Should I keep extending just for fun?
Well at least you would insure that your children would continue to get it.. Of course you could go for the most loyal customer they have... maybe you would even make it into Maxium.
