My Introduction to Celldweller’s Music

Audio MP3
Audio MP3

My good friend Rana June, known around the world as the iPad DJ, introduced me to Celldweller’s music, and how we got there was an unexpected travel through various social media links. We were talking about her Twitter page @ranajune and I had clicked on her recent images since we were talking about all the events that have taken place over the past year or so.

@ranajune: This is me doing my best @celldweller35 impression

We stumbled upon this yFrog photo of Rana with hot red hair and she started laughing hysterically, telling me how she looked like her friend Celldweller. She asked if I had heard of his music, and I had not. Rana and I have nearly the same taste in music, so we searched SoundCloud and found one of his remixes for Asking Alexandria’s A Lesson Never Learned (Celldweller Remix).

The studio production on this mix was mind blowing, given the sampling, real instruments, driving bass and dubstep influence, hardcore metal sounds and voices with actual lyric. This was big and thick and something I knew I’d have to listen to 100 times to get the full scope of the production.

Concert Review: Tiesto DESTROYS at the DC Armory

Concert Review: Tiesto DESTROYS at the DC Armory

The armory was the perfect ambience for what was to be one of the biggest shows on Tiesto‘s tour with a sold out crowd of nearly 10,000 trance fans. While Tiesto is just a DJ, he is like no other DJ the world has ever seen. He’s played at the opening ceremony of the Olympics [...]

Benny Benassi vs. Enigma

Benny Benassi vs. Enigma

Benny Benassi, an Italian disc jockey, producer of electro house music, and one of the top DJs in the world right now has remixed Enigma‘s song T.N.T. For the Brain, putting his own signature sounds and effects.  By the way, it’s a great song to run to! Benassi is best known for his 2002 summer [...]

Who is Deadmau5?

Who is Deadmau5?

This was our first night out on the town. I’ve been working too many hours and haven’t had time to really let loose and enjoy the night life.  I bought tickets for Progressive House/Minimal Trance and Techno producer and DJ Joel Zimmerman, known as Deadmau5 (pronounced Deadmouse).  I had no idea at the time I [...]

Putting JBL 220 earbuds to the test

Every now and then I come across a product that just captivates me. That last time this happened was the Camelbak water bottle, and you can read my review on the link. I don’t do reviews often, but when I really feel good about something–and it changes my way of thinking–I have to spread the [...]

Choir gets ubercreative

I think it’s hilarious when ensembles like this take it to the next level…and then the next level. This is Bringham Young University’s Vocal Point Choir. Great stuff. Crowd reaction is perfect!

Poor Van Halen–out of tune! Whoa!

Van Halen performed “Jump” in concert in North Carolina in September 2007, and the keyboard track must have been pitched too high, resulting in this heck of a mess. No one seemed to have noticed in the crowd, but you may notice at times when he tries to cover for being so out of tune. [...]

Get you love drunk off my hump…

Here are two versions of the song “My Humps”. Black Eyed Peas had a hit first, then Alanis Morissette followed. Take a look at the two versions below… Alanis Morissette‘s version of “My Humps” (which is psychotically WEIRD, yet funny) …and the original version by the Black Eyed Peas. Alanis had a hand in changing [...]

My favorite lyrics…ever

Remember that dance song “Around the World” by Daft Punk? It came out in the late ’90s. Well, I thought I’d post the lyrics, because there’s SO MUCH thought in them… Around the world, around the world Around the world, around the world Around the world, around the world Around the world, around the world [...]
